Pierangelo Cavanna (1952) vive a Torino.

Insegna Storia della fotografia presso l’Istituto Europeo di Design di Torino dopo aver insegnato la stessa disciplina presso le Università di Lecce, Roma e Torino. Ha curato  mostre per la Fondazione Torino Musei, la Galleria civica di Modena, il Civico Archivio Fotografico di Milano, l’Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo e la Documentazione di Roma, la Fondazione Sella di Biella e Camera – Centro Italiano per la Fotografia, Torino.  È stato membro del primo Consiglio direttivo della Società Italiana per lo Studio della Fotografia e del team di progetto “The History of 20th Century European Photography”,  promosso da FOTOFO Bratislava e Kulturprojekte Berlino.

Pierangelo Cavanna (1952) lives in Turin.

He teaches History of Photography at the European Institute of Design – IED in Turin after having taught the same discipline at the Universities of Lecce, Rome and Turin. He was the curator of exhibitions for the Turin Museums Foundation, the Civic Gallery of Modena, the Civic Photographic Archive of Milan, the Central Institute for Catalog and Documentation – ICCD in Rome, the Sella Foundation in Biella and Camera – Italian Center for Photography, Turin.

He was a member of the first Board of Advisors of the Italian Society for the Study of Photography – SISF and of the project team “The History of 20th Century European Photography”, promoted by FOTOFO Bratislava and Kulturprojekte Berlin.
